Life in the Forest is here!

From my first sight of the Spring / Summer catalogue way back in December, I knew I 'needed' the Life in the Forest set. The fox, the mouse, the toadstool, I loved it!!

This is a project I thought of while I was waiting for it to arrive and I loved making it! It's pretty hand cut intensive, which is unusual for me as most people know I'm allergic to cutting out ..... my usual question is "it's lovely, does it have a matching punch / framelits"?

I brayered the background, having only recently got back into the brayering malarky. The trees, toadstools and those cute creatures were all paper pieced; the mouse's ears took some careful cutting! I cut outside of the line to make it look a bit like raw edge applique.

The only image that didn't make it into this piece was the hedgehog, but it won't be long before he makes an appearance! I think the fox is still my favourite with plenty more makes to come featuring him.

If you would like to have a go at making your own, please contact me to order your own set of cute creatures.

Happy New Year ....

The tree and decorations are down and packed away for another new year (anyone else missing the twinkling lights?) and back in to full swing for 2014.

The new bareness of the house inspired me, or made me, make a new wall hanging, but this time one that will stay up all year long. It's a project that I've had in mind for a while but it took a while for the right papers, photos and details to come together.

SNEAK PEAK ALERT

Just one of the perks of being a demo is that we get to see and buy products before they are on general sale. After seeing this one on a demo booth at Convention, it was one I simply had to have!! You know what I mean!

Several years ago, we were sorting papers and photos following the death of a Great Aunt (great in both ways xx), I found an old leather wallet with some small photos in that none of the family had ever seen before. On close inspection we spotted our Aunt on them, but unfortunately we don't know anybody else on the photos. We think they were taken at the Old Town Hall in the late 1920's.

Here's my project .....

I had the photos copied and several resized, the small photos are the size of the originals! I used a box frame that I bought too long ago and the very gorgeous Venetian Romance papers - these are my most favourite papers, ever! Have you spotted the sneak peak?

Here you go!! It is the most fabulous die to make 3D flowers. I love this so much and was determined to incorporate them on my project that I had to wait until I could preorder this die.

This is my favourite of all of the pictures. My Aunt is on the left and is absolutely taken with the giggles. I think it's my favourite as it's how I remember her; she was a rum'un as she would say!

I left a space in one slot to add some journalling. As my hand is still recovering, my writing leaves a lot to be desired so I will fill this in later.

The picture when no one was looking!! I just had to include this one.

And here's one lase, close up look at those gorgeous flowers.

The new Spring Summer Catalogue will be available soon. I will post a link as soon as I can or if you would prefer a hard copy, please get in touch... there are some beautiful things awaiting!

Don't forget we have the main event of the year coming soon, Sale-a-Bration when you can earn fabulous products for free!! Contact me to find out more or book an event.
